HERE ARE A FEW TIPS TO CONSIDER WHEN YOU GET READY
TO SELL YOU HOME.
1. ALWAYS START FROM THE OUTSIDE AND WORK YOUR WAY
IN.
Drive up appeal is so very important. A well kept lawn, neatly
trimmed shrubs and a clean sidewalk and walkway leading to
the front door makes a first impression memorable. If needed,
fix damaged gutters, torn screens, broken window panes and
other minor flaws, all of which will grab the visitor’s
attention from the curb. You don’t want to leave a bad
“first impression”.
2. CONSIDER INVESTING IN SOME PAINT.
Paint makes a home look refreshed and inviting. Always use
calming colors such as whites, light tans and other neutral
tones. …a small price to pay that will work in your
favor.
3. OPEN UP THOSE BLINDS AND SHUTTERS AND LET THE SUNLIGHT
IN.
A bright and well-lit room makes a visitor feel at home and
comfortable. Sunlight also helps increase the overall perception
of a room's size. Be sure and wash the inside and outside
of windows. That wonderful sunshine can’t gleam through
dirty windows. You may also want to turn on overhead lights
and table lamps.
4. REPAIR MINOR FLAWS.
Oil those squeaky doors, windows and drawers. A little silicon
should do the trick. Be certain that all of the plumbing is
in good working condition. If toilets don’t flush well
or if you have leaky faucets, seriously consider having them
fixed. Also, make sure you clean rust and soiled spots, empty
trash receptacles and deodorize pet and smoking areas.
5. A DECORATED KITCHEN AND BATHROOM CAN HELP SELL
A HOME.
Make sure your countertops and appliances are clean and dirt
free. In fact you may want to consider taking small appliances
off the countern tops all together. It creates room and makes
the area look larger. Crumbs and grease spots are a turn off
as well. A little elbow grease will go a long way. Well decorated
bathrooms also help sell a home. Make sure the toilets and
showers are clean and again, remove clutter from the counter
tops. |
